At Nepean Radiology we have invested in the most advanced 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography System. Our capability delivers top-of-the-line image quality at an impressively low dose. We consider our 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography System the platform for both your current and future needs.
Mammography is a low-dose x-ray exam of the breast. The images are captured and recorded directly onto a computer for our radiologists to examine. Our service is designed with patient comfort in mind and accommodates a diversity of body types and needs.
There is no special preparation required for Mammograms. Upon arrival you may be asked by the radiographer to change into a gown before your examination. You may also be asked to remove jewellery, eyeglasses, or any metal objects that may obscure the images.
You will be exposed to a very small amount of radiation when you have a Mammogram. At Nepean Radiology, we use the most advanced Full-Field Digital Mammography System to ensure you are exposed to the minimum amount of radiation needed to obtain quality images.
If you are pregnant or suspect that you may be, please advise our staff before the test is performed, as special precautions may have to be taken.
